A huge thank you to the amazing group of 40+ RVA volunteers who spent this past week working hard at Guthrie Grove! From new electric doors and a four-way swing to metal roofs, drainage work, fresh paint on 30+ benches, grab bars in bathrooms, and 50 new sets of curtains. So much was accomplished. We’re so grateful for everyone’s time, effort, and heart in making these improvements!

Meet Our Lifeguards! 🏊‍♀️☀️

Say hello to Meredith and Sean—two awesome members of our lifeguard team this summer at Guthrie!

🧑‍🎨 Meredith Sherer has been lifeguarding since she was 15 and is currently studying Illustration at the Kansas City Art Institute with dreams of working in concept art. When she’s not keeping swimmers safe, she loves diving into comics, sewing, making chain jewelry, and playing D&D. Meredith grew up attending camps and retreats at Guthrie and is so excited to be back this summer!

🌲 Sean is brand new to lifeguarding but has a lifelong love for Guthrie and the water! At 28, he’s thrilled to be serving at a place that holds so many cherished memories. Sean is passionate about the outdoors, animals, and spending time in nature. He feels incredibly blessed to be part of the team this year.

We can’t wait for you to meet them at the pool! 💦
