Immediate Need - Please Help...

Some stories stop you in your tracks, and this is one of them. 💔

A local mom of three has faced more in the last few months than anyone should have to endure.

In February, she discovered a lump in her breast and was forced to stop working. She underwent surgery in April, but just as she began recovering, tragedy struck again when a fire started in her laundry room, destroying most of her family's belongings.

Now, after moving into a new apartment and trying to rebuild from scratch, the lump has returned and her health is declining. Unable to work, she's fallen behind on her car payments and fears losing the one thing that allows her to get to medical appointments and care for her children.

To make matters even harder, the family lost their beds in the fire and have been sleeping on blankets on the floor.

This is where our Families Helping Families Chicagoland community can make a difference. Every dollar donated will help keep this family's car from being repossessed, provide beds for the children, and help furnish their new home with the essentials they desperately need.

PLEASE READ and consider helping this single mom and her kiddos...

Brianna and her three children woke to every family's worst nightmare - a devastating apartment fire. With no working fire alarms or sprinkler system, they had only moments to escape.

Their only way out was through a second-floor bedroom window. Brianna's 11-year-old son, Bryson, bravely jumped first so his younger brother, Breon, would have something to land on, fracturing his foot in the process. Brianna then jumped to safety herself, suffering three fractures in her back.

In a matter of minutes, the family lost everything they owned. While they are incredibly grateful to have found a new place to live, they are now faced with the overwhelming task of starting over.

Families Helping Families Chicagoland has created an Amazon Wish List (link below) to help Brianna and her children replace some of the items they lost and other everyday necessities. That's why Families Helping Families Chicagoland is launching Caring Carts - fully stocked carts placed directly in local schools, giving students discreet access to the personal care items they need to feel confident, cared for, and ready to learn.

💜 Help a Young Mom Get Back on Her Feet 💜

At just 23 years old, this courageous mother is doing everything she can to care for her two beautiful daughters, ages 2 years and 10 months. Despite facing overwhelming challenges, she continues to fight every day for a better future for her girls.

Recently, her car was totaled in an accident, taking away her only source of income. Living with sickle cell disease and early heart failure, she faces frequent hospitalizations and is unable to work a traditional job. Before the accident, she supported her family by driving for Uber, which allowed her the flexibility she needed to manage her health while caring for her children.

Her lease will end on June 30, and she and her daughters will be staying with a friend while they work toward rebuilding their lives.

Adding to these hardships, she grew up in foster care from the age of 3 until she aged out at 21, leaving her without the family support system many of us rely on during difficult times.

Today, we are asking our community to come together and help give this young mother a fresh start.

🚗 Our goal is to raise funds for a down payment on a reliable vehicle.

A car would provide so much more than transportation—it would give her the opportunity to return to driving for Uber, earn an income, support her daughters, and begin saving for a place of their own.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings this family one step closer to stability, independence, and hope.
