Last Friday, SWALCO celebrated 35 years of environmental leadership and service to Lake County communities!

During the event, Senator Adriane Johnson presented SWALCO with a Certificate of Recognition from the Illinois Senate, honoring the agency’s 35 years of leadership in waste reduction, recycling, composting, and environmental stewardship. Additionally, Representative Joyce Mason announced plans to file a House Resolution recognizing SWALCO’s 35-year milestone.

Thank you to all who attended the celebration--this milestone would not have been possible without the support of our member communities, residents, and partners!

Attention City of North Chicago, Illinois - Government residents! Loop the Cart has been traveling around North Chicago--have you seen him? After stopping by City Hall to meet Mayor Rockingham, Loop visited his billboard on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Loop loved his visit to North Chicago so much that he might just stick around for the summer! Keep your eye out for Loop and his cart tagging crew, who will be helping residents learn more about what materials can and can't be recycled. Visit https://feedthecart.org/ to learn more!
