**UPDATE ON PREVIOUS DELAY as of 3:00pm**
US Hwy 431/Florida Short Route/Gunter Ave. is now completely open for traffic.

**Update from GPD**

Please be informed that US Hwy 431/Florida Short Route/Gunter Ave is temporarily closed for southbound traffic heading towards Guntersville across the Tennessee River Veterans Memorial Bridge. To ensure the safety of all road users, a detour has been implemented.

Southbound traffic will be diverted onto Lurleen B Wallace Dr, then onto Sunset Dr, and finally onto AL Hwy 69/Henry St. This detour will remain in effect until further notice due to structural damage to a building on Gunter Ave near the Marshall County Courthouse. Debris from the damaged building has obstructed the roadway, necessitating this detour.
****************************************************

400 Block of Gunter Ave is closed!

Please use extreme caution in the 400 Block of Gunter Ave due to a partial building collapse. No injuries have been reported. First responders are continuing to secure the area.

Traffic will be impacted so find an alternate route if possible. If you must travel that area please be patient as there may be alternate traffic patterns.

The courthouse will be delayed 2 hours because it is across the street.
