ANY HEELER RESCUES IN THE ALABAMA AREA?‼️

WE ARE NEEDING HELP.

Please tag any known rescues. Thank you!

This beautiful guy is Rog (short for Roger). Rog is a middle aged cattle dog or what some refer to as a heeler.

Rog is a nice medium size at 45 pounds. He has a gentle personality about him and is a tad shy. But holy smokes, when this guy warms up he is a BIG LOVER. He gives lots of kisses. 😘😘😘.

Rog hung out with the other shelter dogs and does well with other submissive and polite dogs. He is an older guy who doesn’t tolerate being jumped on or another dog up in his face. He will need a home either where he can be the solo dog or with another older calm dog. He would also do best in a home that has a quieter environment without young children.

He does well on the leash.

Such an easy going and sweet boy. He is a quiet guy and well mannered. He just wants to become someone’s shadow and best buddy.

He had a slight limp when he came in. X-rays show he has an old injury to his hind left leg which has healed long ago. He may have a little arthritis but it doesn’t slow him down. He is currently not limping after some kennel rest but he prefers to shift his weight onto his unaffected leg. Roger may need to retire from being a working dog but that’s ok! He’s ready for soft beds and trying out this thing he’s heard about called a “couch potato”.

Note he has a kissy spot on his forehead but be prepared for the activation of sugars! 😘

Adoption fee is sponsored by TAG (that’s us!).

His adoption will include his neuter (completed), rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, dewormer and a microchip. He has tested negative for heartworms (good boy!). Neutered this morning (9/23/26). Bud is ready to roll!

Come meet Roger at Guntersville Animal Hospital, 1609 Henry St, Guntersville, AL. No appt necessary. Mon-Fri 7:30-5:30 and Sat 7:30-12.
