The West Elk Bicycle Classic is an annual fundraiser for Western State Colorado University on Sunday of Labor Day Weekend as a timed tour from Gunnison, CO to Crested Butte, CO circumscribing the West Elk mountains. That means you can race as you will be timed or just ride and soak it all in. A note on the road; the first 110 miles will be beautiful black top. Then when you climb Kebler pass the r

oad turns to a smooth dirt road. The short descent back into Crested Butte is partially paved. The finish will be in down town Crested Butte with food and beer!

This is why we ride the West Elk Bicycle Classic…to help others while challenging ourselves on the bike. Come ride with us, 34, 52 or 134 mi through the Gunnison Country.
