As you may know the Senior Center Foundation has determined that the GETGO program no longer fits their primary goal and objective to promote the Senior Center itself and has terminated the shuttle service. They felt the resources required to maintain operations was beginning to take away from their core mission. However, the Senior Center Foundation Board supports continuation of the service by another organization and is willing to consider transition options.
A group of drivers believe we can create a plan to resume services on a consistent and permanent basis. We are in the discovery phase to determine if it’s feasible to set up the structure necessary to continue shuttle services. We will not resume services if we can’t provide a financially feasible and reliable service long term.
The mission will be to provide a safe, reliable and convenient shuttle service that best meets the needs of Gulfport’s residents and vacationers anywhere within Gulfport city limits.
