Gulf Coast HUB for Volunteers & Nonprofits
The Gulf Coast Community Foundation (GCCF) has joined a network of community foundations in an initiative to provide resources for volunteers and nonprofits in communities across the state of Mississippi.
Through a grant awarded by The Corporation for National and Community Service, and partnerships with the Mississippi Association of Grantmakers and the Mississippi Center for Nonprofits, the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service (Volunteer Mississippi) is establishing several Volunteer and Nonprofit Resource Hubs, called the Mississippi Hub Network. These Hubs consist of regional, one-stop resource shops where volunteers can get involved in their communities and nonprofits can find the volunteers, training, and financial resources they need to help solve serious social problems.
The Gulf Coast Hub, a program of GCCF, will be providing volunteer and nonprofit services in Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, Stone, George and Greene Counties. GCCF’s Gulf Coast Hub will help nonprofit organizations recruit a valuable volunteer workforce, provide capacity building training to strengthen organizational effectiveness, and help communities become more disaster-resilient by providing Volunteer Response Center training and assistance in the event of a disaster.
