Meet Lilly!

With her stunning golden eyes and loving personality, Lilly is ready to find the forever family she deserves.

Fostered in Crestview
Female 2 Years Old

Lilly's journey hasn't been the easiest. She was found abandoned and believed to have been dumped in the Blackwater area. Despite that rough start, she has remained incredibly sweet, trusting, and full of love.

Her only recent medical concerns were the issues that originally brought her to the vet, and those have been successfully treated. She is healthy, happy, and doing great!

Lilly is the perfect combination of snuggle bug and playful pup. She loves people and tends to match the energy around her. If you're relaxing at home, she'll happily curl up beside youor on top of you, because she hasn't quite figured out that she's not a lap dog! When it's time to play, she enjoys chasing balls, carrying around her stuffed toys, and having a few energetic play sessions throughout the day.

She would likely do very well with another playful dog. Lilly loves interacting with neighboring dogs and would thrive with a family that enjoys including her in activities and playtime. She is especially interested in squirrels and lizards, but she listens exceptionally well and can stop mid-chase when called.

Lilly is:
- House trained
- Crate trained
- Great when left crated
- Good with children (best with older kids due to her size and enthusiasm)
- Learning excellent leash manners

She has shown no signs of separation anxiety and simply wants to be involved in whatever her family is doing. Whether it's a walk, a car ride, or a cozy evening on the couch, Lilly wants to be right there with her people.

A few fun facts about Lilly:
- She has a serious weakness for tortillas and may help herself if given the opportunity.
- She loves car rides.
- She was fascinated by her foster family's bearded dragon at first but now pays her no attention.
- Large trucks like garbage trucks, UPS, and FedEx vehicles make her a little nervous.
- Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

Lilly has no food aggression, loves affection, and has so much love to give. After being abandoned, she deserves a family that will never let her wonder where she belongs again.

Could Lilly be your new best friend?

Lilly is spayed, current on vaccinations and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400.

MEET CYRUS

Fostered in Fort Walton Beach, Florida - Fence required

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be loved with the intensity of a thousand suns… Cyrus is ready to show you.

Cyrus is a 2-year-old, 140-pound Great Dane currently living his best foster life in FWB FL and he has one very clear goal in life: to be as physically close to his humans as possible at all times. Personal space? Never heard of it. Boundaries? Sounds fake.

Cyrus is not just a lovebug. He is a full-on, smothering, Velcro, hug-delivering professional snuggler. When you walk in the door, he does not simply greet you. He embraces you with his entire body like you have just returned from a year-long voyage at sea. Every day. Even if you just went to check the mail.

Every human is his best friend. The cashier at the pet store. The neighbor across the street. The random stranger at a food festival. He thrives off attention and affection and will happily make eye contact until you understand that petting him is now your full-time job. Ignoring Cyrus is not an option. He will gently but persistently remind you that he exists and that your hands are, in fact, meant for him.

Despite his size, Cyrus is convinced he is a lap dog. Couch cuddles are mandatory. If you sit down, he will sit down on you. He sleeps peacefully while you are away, but once you return, it is showtime. Hugs, wiggles, leaning, and dramatic displays of devotion are guaranteed.

He is wonderful with people and fantastic with children. He enjoys playing rough and loves a good game of tug of war. He would thrive in an active household that includes him in daily walks, car rides, and community outings. He absolutely loves car rides and is always ready for the next adventure, especially if it involves meeting new admirers.

Cyrus is house and potty trained. He does not need another dog to be happy because, quite frankly, humans are his favorite species. He can do well with other dogs depending on introductions, but he is primarily people-focused. Cats are unknown. He strongly dislikes the crate and would prefer a home where he can be part of the action. A fenced yard is required. His leash manners are mostly good, though he can pull a bit when excitement gets the better of him. His recall is decent but not perfect.

At home, he takes his job as loving protector seriously. He will calmly keep watch over the house, but his main focus remains ensuring you never, ever forget how adored you are. He does have one small cyst on his left front paw that does not cause him any discomfort.

Cyrus would do best with a family who appreciates giant breeds, does not mind being leaned on at all times, and understands that owning a Great Dane sometimes means becoming furniture. If you are looking for a loyal, affectionate, hilariously over-the-top love machine who believes you are the best thing that has ever happened to him, Cyrus is ready to attach himself to your heart and your hip.

Cyrus is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.

Please note: NWFLGDR does not transport. All approved adopters are required to travel to pick up the dog in person from his or her foster parent.

**Fostered in Fairhope, Alabama**

Jax is a four-year-old professional cuddle collector with a heart as big as his paws and a personality that’s impossible not to fall in love with. This handsome Great Dane is fully house- and potty-trained, making him an easy addition to your home, and he’s currently working hard on mastering his basic commands like sit and lay down—especially when treats or praise are involved!

Jax is amazing with kids and gets along beautifully with other dogs. In fact, the smaller they are, the more he seems to adore them—he’s a gentle giant through and through. His sweet, affectionate nature shines in everything he does, and he has a wonderfully expressive way of communicating. Whether he’s asking for cuddles, reminding you it’s mealtime, requesting a trip outside, or just letting you know he missed you while you were gone, Jax makes sure you always feel needed and loved.

He’s the kind of dog who will happily follow you from room to room, keeping you company every step of the way, and then settle in close for some quality snuggle time. Personal space? Jax isn’t too familiar with the concept—but that just means more love for you.

Adopt Jax and gain a full-time cuddle buddy who takes his job very seriously—bringing warmth, companionship, and endless affection into your life every single day. 🐾💙

Jax is neutered, current on vaccinations and microchipped. He is being treated for heartworms using the slow-kill method with Doxycycline and ProHeart 12. His adoption fee is $350.

Fostered in Pace, Florida

Hershey is a 7 to 8 year old Great Dane who is learning how to enjoy life after a very rough start. She came into rescue alongside another senior neglect case, Shaggy, and the two are currently being fostered together. After years of living outdoors and being used for breeding, Hershey is still working through the physical and emotional effects of that life. What she needs now is a calm, patient home where she can continue to feel safe and settled.

She can be unsure of new people at first, so slow introductions are important, but she warms up quicker than you might expect. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly sweet and affectionate. She is a total leaner and loves to rest her head, or her whole body, against you, especially if you are sitting down.

Hershey has done well with other dogs in her foster home, including an alpha male, a young playful Dane, and even a Dachshund, but proper introductions are a must. She can be growly if rushed and does best in a lower energy environment where things do not feel chaotic or crowded. She has also been around livestock including goats, pigs, and cows without issue. She will chase outdoor cats but responds when corrected.

Because of her past, Hershey is an anxious dog. Too much excitement or close quarters can make her uncomfortable, and she does not tolerate being poked and prodded, especially at the vet. She will need an adopter who understands her boundaries and can advocate for her.

She is crate trained and knows “kennel up,” and will even relax in her crate with the door open. She is doing well with potty training and is starting to signal when she needs to go out. She and Shaggy both have excellent nighttime habits with no accidents, and they settle in well for the night. Hershey prefers to sleep in the bed with you.

When supervised, she has free roam of the house and is not destructive. She has never been one to get into things. No counter surfing, no shoe stealing, and no chewing on things that are not hers. When left alone, she does best with access to a secure indoor and outdoor space like a mud room with a doggie door.

Hershey must be fed separately due to food aggression, which stems from being severely underweight when she came into rescue at just 75 pounds. She is now a healthy 130 pounds.

Physically, she is still healing. Years of living on hard surfaces and repeated litters have taken a toll, and she does best with short walks and a relaxed lifestyle. You may hear her softly moaning in her sleep because her body has been through a lot. She was recently deemed healthy enough to be spayed and had her surgery two weeks ago. She is recovering well.

Hershey would do best in a calm, low traffic home with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. A quieter environment without constant activity will help her feel secure. She can live with other dogs, but they should be well balanced and introductions must be done slowly and thoughtfully. Because of her food aggression, she will need to be fed separately.

An adopter who is home more often or can provide a consistent routine will set her up for success. Experience with large breeds or anxious dogs is a plus. Most of all, Hershey needs someone who will respect her boundaries and continue showing her that life can be safe, predictable, and kind.

Hershey’s adoption fee is $300. She is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative.

To read over the adoption requirements before applying to adopt Hershey, please go to www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.

Please note: NWFLGDR does not transport. All adopters are required to pick up the dog in person from his or her foster home.

**FOSTERED IN PENSACOLA, FLORIDA**

Meet Luna! 🐾

Luna is a beautiful 4.5 yr. old Great Dane with an even bigger heart. Despite having a very rough start in life, she has remained incredibly loving, trusting, and devoted to people. This sweet girl loves human companionship and is comfortable in busy environments and large crowds. Whether you're entertaining guests, attending community events, or enjoying a quiet evening at home, Luna is happiest right by your side.

Over the past few weeks, Luna has spent time with six different dogs and has gotten along wonderfully with all of them. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

Luna is house-trained and knows how to use a doggie door, although she'd much rather be curled up on the couch than spending time outside. She is a devoted companion who loves following her people from room to room, always wanting to be part of whatever is going on.

She walks nicely on a leash, but squirrels are her weakness! If she spots one, she'll be eager to give chase, so she'll need someone who can maintain control during walks.

Luna is also quite the clever girl. She's figured out how to open latch-style door handles and can even unlatch a chain-link fence gate. The good news? She doesn't use her talents to run away—she simply enjoys showing off her problem-solving skills and usually stays right where she belongs.

If you're looking for a loving, loyal shadow who will fill your home with affection, Luna may be the perfect addition to your family. She's ready to find a forever home where she can enjoy plenty of couch time, companionship, and love.

Luna's Highlights:

❤️ Sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented
🐕 Dog-friendly
🏡 House-trained and doggie-door trained
🚶 Walks well on leash
🛋️ Professional couch potato
🧠 Smart and resourceful
🐿️ Enthusiastic squirrel watcher
🐾 Loves being with her people

Could Luna be the missing piece your family has been searching for? 🖤🤍🐾

Luna is spayed, current on all vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $350. To read over the adoption requirements before applying to adopt Luna, go to www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.

Please note: NWFLGDR does not transport. Approved adopters are required to pick up the dane in person from his/her foster home.

Meet Xena… or as I like to call myself, Her Royal Highness of Unappreciated Suffering™

FOSTERED IN PANAMA CITY (where my tragedy continues daily)

Oh…hello. It is I, Xena. A 130-pound, nearly 5-year-old Great Dane burdened with unmatched beauty, athleticism, and—tragically—no one catering to me 24/7...well I guess my foster mom does a bit.

I was rescued from a truly awful situation (yes, it was as dramatic as it sounds—starvation, neglect, the whole heartbreaking backstory). I rose from the ashes like the warrior princess I am…only to be forced into a life where I must now share my emotions constantly because clearly, I’ve been through enough.

Despite everything, I am deeply affectionate. Some might say “clingy,” but those people lack emotional intelligence. I simply believe you should never experience life alone again. Bathroom? I’m there. Kitchen? Obviously. Personal space? I don’t know her.

I can sleep in my own bed… if you insist… but I will stare at you with the quiet disappointment of a thousand ancestors.

I am housebroken (you’re welcome), though I prefer a full-service door attendant instead of using the doggy door like some kind of peasant. I will politely signal when I need to go out by standing directly in your line of sight or pacing like I’m solving a major life crisis. Read the room.

Occasionally, I will counter surf. Not because I’m naughty, but because I’m brave enough to investigate suspicious smells. Boxes? Sometimes they offend me. Sometimes they don’t. It’s a complex relationship.
Shoes and socks? I relocate them. I don’t destroy them—I simply…curate their placement. Interior design is my passion.

I do know commands like sit, paw, no, off, and come… though I prefer to think of them as suggestions. Leash walking is…evolving.

I am perfectly polite with humans, but when I see another dog, I must announce my presence as the superior being. My 130 pounds help emphasize my point.

Now, about other dogs…I can live with one. But let’s be clear: I am the queen. They must know it. They must accept it. They must properly admire me from a respectful distance. Slow introductions are required so they can fully grasp my greatness.

Cats? I’ve seen them. I’ve ignored them. We exist in a fragile, unspoken treaty.

I LOVE to play. Aggressively. Enthusiastically. With full-body commitment. I am also “mouthy,” which is just my way of expressing my thoughts, feelings, and occasional demands for attention.

Small children? Probably not ideal. I am large, powerful, and occasionally unaware of my own majestic size. Older, Dane-savvy humans who understand my emotional depth? Yes, please.

At the end of the day, I am a deeply loyal, slightly dramatic, incredibly loving girl who just wants someone to devote their life to me—uh, I mean… share a life with me.

I am spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and fully prepared to bring a daily mix of comedy, chaos, and heartfelt sighs into your home.

Adoption fee: $350

Emotional cost: everything you own… including your personal space.
Apply if you are ready to serve—I mean…love—Xena forever.
