Our 5th grade boys battled it out and came out as champs!

Our 6th and 7th grade girls travel teams got together for a fun “6-7 holiday” themed practice.

Great collaboration between teams and a wonderful way to get some great practice in before the long break! Thank you to the parents who volunteered time, energy, and baked goods to make it special.

💚Weekend sweep for 7B!! 💚

Two big wins to keep the momentum rolling:
• vs. Groton Mystic: 66–40
• vs. North Haven: 55–42

That makes 4–0 to start the season for 7B— great teamwork, energy, and effort all weekend long! Keep it going boys!

🧥 Final Weekend to Donate! 🧥
Our GBL Winter Coat Drive is still going strong — but we urgently need your help to finish strong!

📅 This weekend: Dec. 13 & 14
📍 Drop-off at GBL rec & travel games — look for collection boxes at the main gym entrances of all elementary schools + Baldwin Middle School

Please consider donating new or gently used coats of any size to help keep local families warm this winter. Every donation makes a difference!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who dropped off coats last weekend — let’s keep the momentum going!

We’re also still looking for volunteers to help with box drop-offs and pick-ups this Saturday & Sunday.

🏀 7B starts the season 2–0! 🏀
An awesome opening weekend for our boys! On Saturday, we defeated North Branford 49–21 with strong performances from Theo Drake (17 pts) and Will DeMarseilles (15 pts). On Sunday, we followed it up with a 38–23 win over Madison, led by Giovanni Rios (10 pts) and Dylan Kuhls (11 rebounds)!

Way to kick off the season, team!

Our girls had an amazing weekend on the court — coming away with two big wins!

They battled hard and defeated Groton/Mystic yesterday and Clinton today!

🧥 ❄️ GBL Winter Coat Drive — Spread the Warmth!

Let’s come together this season to support those in need! We’re collecting new or gently used winter coats for kids and adults — all sizes welcome!

All donations will benefit Midnight Run, an amazing organization helping provide clothing and meals to individuals in need throughout the New Haven area.

📅 Donation Dates:
• 12/6–12/7 & 12/13–12/14 (Weekends)

📍 Drop-Off Locations & Times:
Saturdays
• 8AM–3PM — Lakes, Leete & Cox
• 8AM–5PM — Baldwin & Jones

Sundays
• 8:30AM–11:45AM — Melissa Jones
• 8AM–12:30PM — Baldwin

🏀 Where to Donate:
Look for collection boxes near gym entrances during rec games, home travel games, MiniHoops, and 3rd Grade Enrichment programs.

We are also looking for volunteers to help drop off the collection boxes at various sites and to also pick up the (hopefully filled) collection boxes and return them to Kristen Hershman.

💚🏀Our 7th grade girls travel team had a blast playing at halftime of the Quinnipiac women’s game last week!

Great energy, great memories, and a great start to the season!

💚Our GBL Girls 4th grade travel team took home a hard fought tournament championship at the 2025 Connecticut Basketball Conference Turkey Shoot.

With wins over Berlin and North Haven, the girls earned their first championship as a team, and kicked off their season on a high note!

🎉Congrats to the team and coaches on the win!!
