We are organizing the first (hopefully) annual Community Pride Clean Up Day here in Guilford. It's been a really long winter and we are finally seeing some signs of spring. A regular sign of spring here in Maine is roadside litter. We do our best to clean up our yards but it is impossible for any one family or group to clean up the whole town. The folks at the town office and I are hoping you all
will pitch in to do your part to help us tidy up our little town. We think with a little teamwork we can make this place shine on a Saturday morning. If we have enough volunteers to do each small area we can quickly cover the whole town. Ideas are certainly welcome here on this page. Do you have a group - class at school, scouts, business, your family, etc - that would like to help? All you have to do is sign up for an area. Perhaps you want to just do your street or the gazebo lawn. Maybe you would like to tackle more. Or less. It's up to YOU. Do what you can. The town has offered to haul away the garbage. This is all volunteer. We are looking at Saturday May 10 from 8-12 for the event. Let's get together for a few hours to show some pride in our community. Are YOU in?
