Redwood Coast Humane Society Our shelter is open on Saturdays from 12-2pm. Our facility: Redwood Coast Humane Society is located at 39151 S. Hwy. 1 in Gualala, Ca.

The answering machine is monitored and your call will be referred to the appropriate volunteer to return your call. We are open by appointment and Saturday from 12pm - 2pm. Please leave a phone message with our call back service to be contacted by our staff of volunteers. Mission: It is the mission of the Redwood Coast Humane Society to advocate for the welfare, rights, respect, and protection o

f all animals through care, intervention, and education. Goals:
*To provide temporary foster and medical care for animals that are surrendered, abandoned, injured or rescued.
*To locate permanent homes for companion animals through adoption programs.
*To control dog and cat population by providing financial assistance for and education about spay/neuter services.
*To act as an information resource for a variety of animal related issues, including lost and found, feral cat management, referrals and counseling.
*To educate the public on animal related issues through workshops, special events, and publications.
*To develop and sustain a skilled volunteer network to support the organization's activities.
*To attain financial resources through fundraising activities to support our mission and goals.

WE ARE REACHING OUT AGAIN for help finding this boy’s owner. Please contact Redwood Coast Humane Society at our message phone 707 884 1304 or message us here if you can help us find his owner. Otherwise, we may have no choice but to call Animal Control to help us. We prefer not to call them. It would be our last choice for him.
He is not neutered, barking and very unhappy. He was picked up wearing a sweater and we agreed to take him from the person that found him for a limited amount of time because of the disruption it causes our caregivers and other dogs having an unneutered male at the shelter. It looks like the person that found him has changed her mind about helping after dropping him off. We really need the help of our community on this one.

Do you recognize this intact male dog? He was found wandering in Point Arena while wearing a sweater. If he belongs to you or if you know his owner, please contact the Redwood Coast Humane Society by messaging us here or calling 707-884-1304. We have limited space, and having an intact male can create disruptions for our other dogs. We need to find his owner as soon as possible. Thank you!

Sweet Pea is just one of the many adorable little pups currently waiting for a family to call their own. We have Chihuahua mixes of all ages—males and females—with a variety of colors, coat types and personalities. Whether you’re looking for a spunky sidekick, a sweet little lap warmer or something in between, your perfect match may be waiting for you.

For an adoption fee of $100, these pups come spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped, ready to start the next chapter of their lives.

🐾 IT’S NATIONAL DOG DAY! 🐾

And around here, we happen to know a few dogs who think EVERY day should be Dog Day. 😏🐶

Today we’re celebrating the goofy ones, the gentle ones, the wiggle-butts, the couch potatoes, and the big personalities. ❤️

⭐ Star — our beautiful tricolor sweetheart who has been patiently waiting far too long for someone to finally say, “You’re coming home with me.”

🤎 Camella — a reddish-chocolate ray of sunshine with a giant smile, a big ol’ noggin and plenty of personality to go with it.

🤟 Woody — our sweet deaf boy who may experience the world a little differently, but certainly doesn’t love any less. He’s smart, strong and already knows basic commands through hand signals

And these are just a few of the wonderful dogs who have passed through our doors and stolen our hearts. 🥹

This beautiful young lady was found about two weeks ago off Annapolis Road, close to the dump, and we’d love to find out if someone is missing her.

She is very friendly, appears to be fairly young, and unfortunately does not have a microchip to help us track down her family.

🎨🐾 No Shelter Hours This Saturday — Come See Us at Art in the Redwoods! 🐾🎨

Our cat shelter will not have public hours this Saturday, August 15, because we’re taking the kitties on a little field trip! 😻

Redwood Coast Humane Society will be joining the fun at Art in the Redwoods at the Gualala Arts Center! 🌲🎨

Be sure to stop by our table, say hello to our volunteers, learn a little more about what we do… and, most importantly, meet a few of our adorable kittens! 🐱💕 Who knows—one tiny face might just steal your heart.

We’d love to see some familiar faces (and meet some new ones!) while we celebrate this wonderful community event.
