Congratulations to Gruver and New Home on incredible finishes in the 2026 UIL Lone Star Cup standings.

🥈 Gruver finished tied for second in Class 2A, another impressive accomplishment for one of Texas’ premier athletic programs.

🎖️New Home finished 5th in the Conference 2A Lone Star Cup Championship, showcasing excellence across multiple sports throughout the school year.

The Greyhound Booster Club added the first ever Viewer’s Choice Awards to the list of sports accolades at the athletic banquet.

The awards are made up of “Play of the Year”, “Most Hype Moment of the Year”, & “Comeback Moment of the Year”.

The nominations came from the High School student body and then again were voted on by the student body.

The first ever award recipients of the Golden Greyhound VCA’s are as follows:

Play of the Year
LHB-Marlee Maupin & Paisley Quirk- Steal and layup during Whiteface game.

Most Hype Moment
HOUNDBALL-Mason Lankford’s 3/4 court buzzer be**er shot vs. Lipan

Comeback Moment/Team of the Year
Boys HOUNDPACK Cross Country Team
