This week is National Crime Victims Rights Week! In celebration of this week, we put together a Take What You Need board in the hallway of the Buchanan County Courthouse. If you come by the courthouse this week, we ask that you take a moment to Take What You Need from our board. We hope that through these sayings, we can show survivors in our area that we hear you, we believe you, and we support you! Please call us if you need us, we are here to help you!

Next week, April 23rd -29th is National Crime Victims Rights Week. We hope that you will join us next week in the Color Me Aware Campaign. This campaign is organized to bring awareness to different crimes and show support to victims. We hope you join us in wearing a different color everyday. If you would like to join us, we will be posting our pictures everyday to show our support. We hope that anyone who is a victim of a crime understands that you are not alone. Your voice will be heard. We are here for you.

Come join us at Appalachian School of Law for Law Days presented by Southwest Virginia Legal Aide on April 27th from 9am -3pm. We will be sharing the full itinerary closer to the event. We will have a table set up at this event with information regarding services provided by the Buchanan County Victim Witness Program. We hope to see you on April 27th!

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunications Week! We would like to thank our Dispatchers for all they do in times of crisis. They are the calm voice on the other end of the line when you need help. We would like to thank our dispatchers for always answering the call and going above and beyond for us here in Victim Witness. We thank you all for all that you do and the support you provide to our victims.

On Saturday, April 1st, the Buchanan County Victim Witness Program took part in the Sexual Assault Awareness Month 5K Run/Walk organized by People, Inc. We would like to thank Melissa Whited and Mary Beth Adams for allowing us to come and set up a table to provide resources to those in Buchanan County who came to participate. If you are a survivor or know someone who is a survivor of Sexual Assault, we are here to help you however we can.
