Shop With A Cop 2025 is in the books and we had a wonderful day with the children from the community. This year’s event brought 76 children from Buchanan County and 27 children from Dickenson County to spend the day with the first responders that protect their communities. Children were given a full police and fire es**rt to a $150 shopping spree and lunch. Getting to see the excitement and magic of Christmas through the eyes of the children makes this event worth it all. This year’s program brought volunteers from Grundy Police Department, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, US Army Corps of Engineers, Breaks Interstate Park, Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority, Red Onion State Prison, Probation & Parole, Grundy Volunteer Fire Department, Big Rock Volunteer Fire Department, Prater Volunteer Fire Department, Council Volunteer Fire Department, Buchanan County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, and other community members. A huge thank you to all our donors and the community for all of their support because without them, this event would not be possible! 🎁✨

‼️It’s Shop-With-A-Cop Eve‼️

Tomorrow is the day that all of our many volunteers wait for all year, it’s a day filled with excitement, joy and smiling faces!! We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our volunteers, donors, sponsors and the community as a whole because without you this program would not be possible! Officers will be giving all of our participants a police es**rt from Southern Gap to Walmart using lights and sirens long Rt 83 and Rt 460. We invite the community to be long the route and wave to all of the children, officers and volunteers. Group 1 will leave Southern Gap at 9am and Group 2 will leave at 2pm. We look forward to a wonderful day filled with joy and excitement!!🎄🎁

To put rumors to rest, we have NOT cancelled Shop with a Cop. Social media can spread false information very quickly and we ask that you please don’t spread information that can’t be confirmed. We would also like to include that Buchanan County Shop with a Cop is its own entity and exists due to the help and support from all of our law enforcement partners in our area. Again, we appreciate all the support from our community and friends. We will be hosting 2025 SWAC on December 13th. Hope to see everyone there!

Beast Bingo 2025 is a wrap, we would like to thank everyone that came out to support our event and hope you had a great time! A special thank you to all of our volunteers, sponsors, and vendors! We hope to see you again in 2026!!

Shop-With-A-Cop 2024 was one for the record books! It was an amazing day, filled with excitement and smiling faces!! Each year, we look forward to spending time with children from the community to have a meaningful and positive interaction. This year was no exception as the officers had the privilege to spend the day with 88 children from our 4 local elementary/ middle schools and Dickenson County, while spreading Christmas cheer. The ability to provide this program to our community each year is one that we do not take for granted, if it wasn’t for the full support of our community, citizens, volunteers, donors and sponsors this program would not be possible.
