Dear Community Members,

The Social Studies classes at Grove High School, in partnership with the Grand Lake Fraternal Order of Police, are proud to launch a one school week Community Food Drive from November 3 through November 7. As part of their studies, students have been exploring the impact of the recent government shutdown—not only on our nation, but also on the lives of families in our own community.

Moved by what they’ve learned, our students are taking action. This food drive is a meaningful step toward helping those affected by food insecurity, and it reflects the values of civic responsibility and compassion. With the support of the Grand Lake FOP, we aim to make a real difference—and we invite you to be part of it. Let’s come together to make sure everyone has food during these trying times. Your support—whether through donations or spreading the word—can help ensure no one in our community goes without.

Due to the government shutdown and the temporary freeze of SNAP benefits, we anticipate an increase in guests seeking food assistance on Monday. While we are committed to helping as many people as possible, we are concerned about congestion around our driveway entry and parking lot.

Clients must use extra caution and patience when arriving. If the parking lot appears full, please consider returning at a later time or call for guidance. Your safety and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
