It’s easy to feel like you’re behind when you’re comparing your life to someone else’s.

But everyone’s timeline is different. Some journeys take longer, some take unexpected turns, and that’s okay. Keep moving forward at your own pace. Your story doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s to be exactly what it’s meant to be.

Three years ago, Chris and I took a leap of faith.

We knew what it felt like to desperately search for someone—anyone—who truly understood what it was like to love a child struggling with mental health challenges. We knew the isolation, the sleepless nights, the second-guessing, and the feeling that everyone else seemed to have parenting figured out while we were just trying to make it through the day.

We wondered how many other parents were quietly carrying the same weight.

So we opened the doors to our first REAL TALK, Real Support meeting.

We didn't have all the answers. We simply wanted to create a place where parents and caregivers could come as they were, tell the truth about what life was really like, and know they would be met with understanding instead of judgment.

Three years later, we're incredibly humbled by what this community has become.

We've watched strangers become friends. We've seen parents who once sat silently in the back of the room return months later offering hope to someone just beginning their journey. We've laughed together, cried together, celebrated victories big and small, and reminded one another that none of us has to walk this road alone.

The most meaningful part of REAL TALK has never been the number of meetings we've held or the partnerships we've built. It's hearing someone say, "For the first time, I don't feel alone."

That's why we do this.

To every parent and caregiver who has trusted us with your story, thank you. Your honesty has made this community what it is today. To our volunteers, partners, supporters, and everyone who has shared a meeting, invited a friend, made a donation, or simply encouraged our mission—thank you for believing in what REAL TALK can be.

As we celebrate three years, we're filled with gratitude—but also with purpose. We know there are still parents sitting in their cars after another difficult day, wondering if anyone else could possibly understand. We want them to know there is a place for them.

Thank you for helping us build more than a support group. Together, we've built a community where families are reminded they are seen, they are valued, and they never have to face this journey alone.

Here's to the next chapter.

To the moms carrying more than most people will ever see… Happy Mother’s Day. 💚

To the moms sitting in hospital rooms, waiting rooms and therapy offices.
To the ones managing medications, safety plans, school meetings and sleepless nights.
To the moms holding space for big emotions while quietly trying to hold themselves together, too.
To the caregivers grieving the child they thought life would look like while fiercely loving the child standing in front of them.
To the ones who feel isolated, exhausted, overlooked or unsure if they’re doing enough…

You are.

This journey can feel incredibly lonely sometimes, but please know this: you are not failing because things are hard. You are parenting through hard things.

And even on the days when it feels messy, uncertain or overwhelming… your love matters. Your presence matters. YOU matter.

Today, we celebrate the moms and caregivers showing up in ways the world doesn’t always recognize or understand. The quiet strength. The advocacy. The resilience. The unconditional love.

From all of us at REAL TALK, Real Support — Happy Mother’s Day. We see you. 🌷
