The photos on this page are of George Davenport Wilson; son to George and Elizabeth Wilson. George Davenport Wilson was one of Andrew's Raiders. Andrew's Raiders were a group of Ohio men that participated in a military action in which they took possession of a train(The General) for the purpose of cutting off communication and supplies in the south with a goal of shortening the Civil War. George Davenport Wilson was illegally hung by the southern army. We are currently waiting for George Davenport Wilson to be award the posthumous Medal of Honor for his service in this action.

George Wilson and Elizabeth Clark Wilson arrived in Ohio in the early 19th century. They were married in Belmont County, Ohio on January 17, 1811. George Wilson was born in Maryland. Elizabeth Wilson gave birth to 7 children.
George Wilson was listed as a shoemaker in the 1870 census.
