As we kick off EMS Week 2026, the Pleasant Township Fire Department would like to recognize two of our own for their outstanding service and dedication to the community.

Recently, Firefighters Jones and Coleman were honored by Mount Carmel for their actions during a motor vehicle accident response on Interstate 71. While assisting at the scene, they encountered a patient who initially refused medical treatment. Through their compassion, professionalism, and persistence, they convinced the individual to seek further evaluation at the hospital, where it was discovered, the patient was suffering a major heart attack. Their actions helped save a life.

This recognition is a perfect reminder of what EMS Week is all about: compassionate care, quick thinking, and making a difference when seconds matter most.

Please join us in congratulating FF Jones and FF Coleman on this well-deserved recognition and thanking all of our EMS providers for the work they do every day to serve and protect our community. 🚑🚒❤️

Today our 3 unit crew had the opportunity to go to Eitel’s Towing to train on auto extraction. The crew practiced various techniques in order to gain access to trapped occupants in a vehicle. We greatly appreciate Eitel’s for letting us come out and cut on their cars!
