Groton Development Corporation had a great time meeting with so many area attendees at the Groton Baseball/Softball Foundation’s 3rd annual “Day of Play” ⚾️🥎today as we unveiled the most recent blueprints for the Indoor Activity Center! 🎉

🎟️Kason Oswald, a Groton baseball player, drew the winning ticket for the Split Pot Raffle: Suzie Easthouse of Groton!🎟️
She has generously chosen to donate her winnings back to GDC for the Indoor Activity Center project she believes will greatly benefit the community.🫶🏼

We greatly appreciate everyone who stopped by to see the blueprints, ask questions, and purchase a raffle ticket! Community is much more than belonging to something: it’s about doing something together that makes the belonging matter. 🏘️

We are at the day of play at the Groton baseball/softball complex holding a 50-50 raffle. Proceeds go to the indoor activity center. Come over and say hi and learn more about it. These baseball players were certainly excited about the golf simulator and batting cage.

It’s a beautiful day to be outside! ☀️
If you head to city park, take a look at the bathrooms GDC and NSU Athletes re-painted. GDC hosted our Community Clean Up and was able to bring the athletes to help out as part of NSU’s Day of Champions🏆

If you see groups out and about around Groton tomorrow, it’s all part of our Community Cleanup Day on May 2!

Volunteers—including student-athletes from Northern State University—will be working throughout town and at the park to help with projects like:
🖌 Repainting the City Park bathroom
🧤 Picking up litter around town and the park
🌼 General beautification projects

We’d love for you to join in!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families, kids, and volunteers of all ages are welcome.

Bring your gloves, invite a friend, and help us continue Growing Groton Together—because small acts make a big impact. 💛

Big news! 🎉

We’re proud to share that Groton Development Corporation recently received the Sharing Success Grant from🚰 WEB Water Development! 🥳

Receiving our first grant is an exciting milestone toward bringing the indoor activity space to life. This project is all about creating a place where people can gather, stay active, and connect year-round right here in Groton.🍃🍂🍁❄️

Thank you to everyone who has supported this vision so far. We can’t wait to see the impact a space like this could have for families, kids, and our entire community! 🙌🏼

Thank you to the stakeholders that shared their ideas for the interior space and a huge thank you to Jackson Strom and his team in drafting up the ideas that the community had (pro bono by the way). We have some more changes before we share the interior layout that includes basketball, pickleball, toddler and baby areas, interior play area, batting cage, simulator, rooms, and a walking area around the basketball area.
