Remembering Past Submarine Base Firefighter Dean Sisson
It is with heavy hearts that the members of the Submarine Base Fire Department mourn the passing of past firefighter Dean Sisson (1978-2008) 30 years of Service. Dean was an Original Charter Member of Local F-219.
Dean was the kind of firefighter who left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him. He was a model apparatus driver/operator—calm, capable, and dependable when it mattered most. When the tones dropped, Dean was always professional and ready to do his part to make sure his crew had what they needed.
But Dean was much more than his skills on the fireground. He had a great sense of humor and a personality that could brighten even the longest shift. He had a way of keeping the firehouse alive, bringing laughter and camaraderie to the crew and creating memories that his brothers and sisters will carry with them for years to come.
The fire service is built on the people who stand beside us, and Dean was one of those people who helped make the Submarine Base Fire Department what it is today. His dedication, professionalism, friendship, and humor will not be forgotten.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Dean’s family, friends, former coworkers, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest easy, Dean. The watch has changed, but your memory will live on around the firehouse.
From all of us at Submarine Base Fire Department and IAFF Local F-219 — thank you for your service, your friendship, and the memories.
