GPS - Ford Cove
The Usual Suspects but minus an occasional Winter Visitor who got away. A Merganser. Thinking female Common.
Nice to see construction of a boardwalk on Bird Island from the path to the waterline. Nice to see workers putting in aquatic plants at the waterline.

Eastpointe- Spindler Park
A Scarlet Tanager on the 10th Disc Golf Hole. I do not remember ever seeing one in Grosse Pointe. Once I saw a Red-headed Woodpecker at Ford House.

My son-in-law send me the fascinating Audubon Migration Map.

Went looking for the Yellow-billed Cuckoo and found it with a big assist from Kayla and Isaac. First time Kayla found it, she was looking straight up with her binoculars. Isaac got a photo of the underside of the bird. A birder came from the South end of the park and told us he just saw a Yellow-billed close to the ground. So we headed that way. Again Kayla found it. Fortunately it was not too far off the path. Took some patience waiting for it to move to an open spot. It seemed to go to the same under leaf spot on the plants. Saw and heard it clicking its beak. Pretty bird.
Our last Bird Walk of Spring Migration will be at Red Oaks.

Nice photo album of our walk by Lauri. She captured the Yellow shafts of the Eastern Northern Flicker. Out West they are Red shafted Flickers.
I got the Snapping Turtle crossing our path. It was 4 inches neck to tail.

Madison Heights
Red Oaks - Yesterday
Easy, Peasy birding.
Canada, Tennessee, Scarlet Tanager and Swainson’s Thrush all continue. I saw them at the NC waterfall.
It was a pair of Tennessees. Friend Diane helped me with their ID.
The Scarlet Tanager was a treat. I have not seen one in a while. Now I want to get my Blues. An Indigo Bunting and a Blue Grosbeak.
Sweeny Park in GPW has been good for Thrushes. I had a Veery there.
