Please join us in giving a round of applause to Liam and Ben, Bright Spark's 7th Grade string duo of viola and cello. They performed at MSBOA's solo and ensemble on January 20th and received a Superior rating of 1 for their performance of 2 Mozart duos. Liam and Ben were already friends, but in December decided to join musical forces to rehearse and perform as a duo. Not only did they ace their Mozart duos, but also composed their own duo which they performed at our recent tour around town. AND they get the Bright Sparks prize for being most flexible and willing to rehearse literally ANYWHERE! One week they ended up in the broom closet, another they were in the restroom. All smiles - great attitudes! 🔥👏👏💪

Giving a huge shout out to the Bright Sparks High School trio of Anna, Alton and Peter who performed at MSBOA Solo and Ensemble on Saturday. They received a "1" - SUPERIOR - rating for their performance of Haydn's Baryton Trio in D. The trio came together in December and chose this challenging piece to rehearse and perform. The piece is a gem for its weaving rhythms and melodies between the three parts. Week by week the piece came together as each musician became more confident with their individual part, plus more familiar with how it fit with the others. By the time they performed as S&E the trio had already performed 4 times at Bright Sparks performances around town. They were ready to enjoy themselves and clearly impressed the adjudicator. Bravo!!!!

We present to you: The session 2 musicians (minus M and F who missed the pic) Taking their final bow! What a great group of musicians, playing an eclectic mix of music: Haydn - folk tunes - Matz - improv - Bob Marley - Hosier - Sister Marie Seraphine Gotay - Mozart. That was a blast😊
