Children who practice chess are known to have a significant increase in their cognitive abilities and also enhance student’s mathematics achievements."

The GP Rooks earned their first team chess trophy at the 2021 Michigan Scholastic Club Chess Tournament in Lansing. They were the only club representation from the Grosse Pointe area. Let's get more kiddos involved in this great game. Check out our inaugural class offering for 3rd - 6th graders.

Welcome to the GP Rooks! We are thrilled to offer our inaugural chess class for 3rd - 6th graders at the advanced beginner level on select Fridays starting March 11th through June in Grosse Pointe. This class will be instructed by a chess professional who was a junior national champion. Check out the sign-up link below. Only 15 spots remain!
