☀️ A huge thank you to all of the businesses, organizations, and community members helping make our Summer Adventure Program possible! Your support allows us to provide meaningful experiences for our children all summer long. ❤️

🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ For our Super Hero Week (August 3–7, 2026), we will also be celebrating Community Helpers, because community helpers are real-life superheroes!

We are looking to visit a local business or organization each week throughout the summer. During the week of August 3rd, we are hoping to have a different community helper, business, or organization involved each day—either by hosting a visit or coming to our center to share what you do.

As you can see from our Summer Adventure Calendar, we are looking for approximately 11 local businesses or organizations to partner with us this summer. We will also be reaching out to businesses and organizations directly, but if you would like to be involved, we would love to hear from you!

The calendar shared on social media contains limited details. Parents will receive a similar calendar with more specific information, times, and event details throughout the summer.

🐦❤️ More Than Just Childcare ❤️🐦

Yesterday, our children witnessed something truly special.

We discovered a baby bird whose foot had become tangled in string that had made its way into the nest. With patience, teamwork, and lots of care, we were able to safely free the baby bird and give it a second chance.

What could have been a sad situation became a valuable teaching moment. We talked with the children about why we should never litter and how items like string, fishing line, and other trash can be harmful to wildlife. The children learned that even small actions can make a big difference in protecting the animals that share our world.

At LCDC, we do so much more than provide childcare. Every day is an opportunity to teach compassion, responsibility, problem-solving, and respect for nature.

Yesterday, we helped save a baby bird, but we also helped our children learn the importance of caring for all living things. Those are lessons that will stay with them far beyond the classroom. 💚🐦
