What began as a few Christ-inspired friends in 2015 is a non-denominational brotherhood in Grinnell focused on fellowship, prayer, and strengthening our walk with God.

Finding Purpose in the "Good, Bad, and Ugly" 🙌✨
At our OxStrong meeting yesterday morning, John Donewell (Assistant Majority Leader, Iowa Legislature) shared an incredible message on how to frame our life experiences through a "Triangle of Faith":
📐 1. God is Love: Believe this entirely. God is always acting in our lives in a loving way.
📐 2. God is Sovereign: He is absolutely in control. Life isn’t chaotic; everything happens within His boundaries.
📐 3. God is Always Working for Our Good: He is constantly accomplishing His plan. God works all things together for those who love Him, turning our messes into good.
Living Inside the Triangle
When you live inside these three truths, your perspective shifts. Instead of giving up when hard times hit, you lean forward on the edge of your seat and ask: “Where is the good here? What is God leading me to?” When life gets heavy, believe harder. 💪

Daily Reflection & Deeper Family Connections
To put this into practice, try asking yourself these three questions every evening:
1️⃣ What did I learn about God today?
2️⃣ What did I learn about myself?
3️⃣ What step of faith did I take to put my knowledge into action?

John also shared great advice for connecting with our kids: to get them to open up, we need to share our own weaknesses, failures, and repentance. Sharing the "full gospel of us" paves the way for real, deep conversations.

OxStrong Men’s Fellowship: July Gathering
I am incredibly happy to announce that John Dunwell will be joining us this Saturday as our guest speaker for July’s OxStrong!

About Our Speaker:
John is a true man of God who served faithfully as a pastor for 20 years. He eventually felt called to step away from the traditional pulpit to focus his faith, wisdom, and energy on a unique ministry: helping and healing churches that find themselves stuck or out of rhythm. Beyond his impactful ministry, John is a tremendous husband, father, son, brother, and leader. He brings a wealth of life experience and a heart for restoration.

When: Saturday, July 11th at 7:30 a.m.

Where: Grinnell Christian Church (1331 Hobart Street, Grinnell, Iowa)

What to expect: Great fellowship, donuts, coffee, juice, and YES—live music!

A Special Invitation:
We are so excited for what God has in store for us this weekend. Please be intentional and invitational this week! If you know someone who feels stuck in their faith journey, or a brother who hasn’t been to OxStrong in a while, extend a warm invite to them. This is a safe, encouraging space for every man to reset and find his rhythm again.

Stand firm in faith, shield your peace, and lead your home with unwavering Christ-like strength.

As Christian men, watching global conflicts rise and political division tear through our nation can feel overwhelming. However, God did not call the men of OX STRONG to cower, compromise, or get dragged into the mud of worldly chaos. We are called to be anchors.

Here is A battle plan for these times:🛡️
GUARD YOUR WITNESS - Reject the hostility. Do not let political discourse corrupt your tongue.Speak with wisdom. Let your words build up, not tear down.

MODEL CHRIST - Show the world what true, disciplined masculinity looks like.

🔥 ANCHOR YOUR HOME - Lead in prayer. Gather your family daily to seek God's protection. Provide absolute stability. Be the calm reassurance your wife and children need. Filter the noise. Protect your household from the constant stream of media panic.⚔️

FIGHT ON YOUR KNEES - Pray for leaders. Intercede for our nation's political figures, regardless of party.Pray for peace. Cry out for the innocent lives caught in global wars.

PUT ON THE ARMOR - Equip yourself daily with the full Armor of God (Ephesians 6).

OxStrong Men… the world is shaking, but the Kingdom of God is unshakeable. Stop looking at the headlines to determine your mood, and start looking to the Scripture to determine your mission.

Remembering the Ultimate Sacrifice This Memorial Day 🇺🇸

"Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest." — Proverbs 14:4

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day weekend, the men of Ox Strong want to pause and honor those who gave everything for our country.

A large harvest requires strength, heavy lifting, and sacrifice. The freedoms we enjoy today—to gather, to worship, and to grow together in the Lord—were secured by the profound sacrifice of brave men and women who put country and duty above self. They did the heavy lifting so that we could inherit a harvest of freedom.

This weekend, let’s not take that legacy for granted. Let’s commit to being strong men of God who protect, serve, and labor faithfully in our families, our churches, and our community.

We remember, we honor, and we thank God for the fallen. Have a safe and blessed Memorial Day, brothers!

Brother, You don’t have to have it all figured out. 🤝

Ox Strong isn't a club for perfect people. We’re just men from different walks of life who recognize we’re better off when we’re walking together, with Christ.

No church politics, no pressure—just a brotherhood of believers sharpening one another. Come as you are. There’s a seat and a hot cup of coffee waiting for you.
