Giving away compost soil to our curbside subscribers! If they expressed interest in receiving compost back, they’ll each get 10G of finished soil!
The directive of Plate to Plant is to divert organics from the landfill (food scraps and biodegradables) to create soil that is applied to local, volunteer run, free-to-pick community giving gardens. The remaining soil is then made available (given away) to curbside compost subscribers for personal use. Hope you’re all enjoying your compost and putting it to good work in your backyard gardens!!! .grinnell

Clothing swap meet this weekend hosted by Poweshiek Trading Post!
Sunday 4/23 2-4pm

Bring your well loved wearable items (clothing, accessories, etc.) and swap them with with other folks for something else. Free and fun clothing exchange!
All types, kinds and genders of clothing welcome.

!!!Please RSVP ahead of time by messaging with how many items you’ll be bringing!!!

If you’re bringing cothes to swap, we ask that you be there at 2pm, but folks are welcome to come and go throughout.

21+ beverages and coffee will be provided.

We'll take your food scraps and turn them into amazing soil. Subscribers can opt-in to recieve finished compost soil every spring and fall. The remainder of the compost soil is spread on our local, free-to-pick community giving gardens to grow more food.

Take your food out of the trash and put it into your local soil to grow more food! Plate to Plant puts the compost soil onto the Grinnell Giving Gardens: free to pick community gardens.

When food wastes go to the landfill they create harmful green house gas emissions , but they could be compsoted and put back into the soil instead! Compost soils are incredible rich, fertile, healthy, and nutrient dense.

It's easy and simple to do with a curbside compost subscription. All you have to do is put it in the yellow bucket, and we do the rest. Feel good by making the choice to contribute to your community and grow a greener Grinnell!
