The Grimes Lions Club would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible community for showing up to honor Iowa soldier Sgt. Declan Coady. 🇺🇸

With a last-minute request, we weren’t sure what to expect but Grimes showed up in a big way. Because of you, 150 flags were flying proudly as the procession drove through town. The sight was powerful, moving, and a beautiful tribute of respect and gratitude.

Your willingness to step in on short notice speaks volumes about the heart of this community. Thank you to everyone who placed flags, helped spread the word, and came out to honor Sgt. Coady.

Iowan Sgt Coady will be laid to rest tomorrow following a service. The procession will travel through Grimes on HWY 44 on his way to his final resting place. There has been a request to have flags available to honor his eternal sacrifice. Grimes Lions Club will be stationed in the parking lot of the old Tru Value tomorrow, Saturday March 21 at 4:15 with flags for anyone who would like to line the road with flags to honor Sgt Coady.

Grimes Lions toured the Grimes Storehouse tonight to see all of the available resources for citizens of Grimes. The Storehouse provides food, both perishable and non-perishable, children’s clothing, DCG clothing of all sizes, and so much more for anyone who has need!

Grime Lions Club is thrilled to partner in supporting the Grimes Storehouse! This year, when renewing your flag subscription, you can donate to the Grimes Storehouse right in the same website! Thank you for supporting this worthy organization!
