🏗️ Rainy weather has temporarily paused construction as we wait for the site to dry out, but things will be moving forward soon!

Meet Sarah Frett! Sarah is an occupational therapy student at Rockhurst University in Kansas City and she is completing her capstone project with The Home Place!

The focus of Sarah's capstone project is to help smooth the transition for future residents and caregivers by creating helpful resources, identifying potential barriers and goals related to independent and semi-independent living, and expanding her own knowledge of inclusive living.

“Professionally, I chose to work with The Home Place because I am fascinated with the idea of cultivating inclusive spaces. Occupational therapists are often known for working with individuals to develop new skills, but we also have a lot of knowledge about how to modify tasks and the environment to encourage participation in everyday activities! Personally, I decided to work with The Home Place because I was friends with many of the future residents in high school which inspired me to pursue occupational therapy. I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community and the individuals who have inspired me.”

We are so excited to have Sarah with us and grateful for the perspective and passion she brings to The Home Place! We can’t wait to see the impact of her work!
