Here’s another chance to play Bingo! This time, you’ll be helping to support us AND our local veterans. Proceeds from this event will be split between us and the Legion.

Though prizes won’t be as “big” as our annual event, it will still be a great time AND you’ll be helping out TWO community organizations.

If you’d like to donate gift cards or prizes for this event, please contact us or the Legion to do so.

🐾🐶 Happy Tails Weds 🐶🐾

Sweet Star came to us quite a while ago. She was living outside under a camper with limited shelter. Luckily, we were able to place her with an amazing foster. Star is scheduled for a costly orthopedic surgery at the end of the month after some diligent fundraising by her foster mom and FOALC volunteers. Click through the pics to see a few of her along her journey.

We are happy to say her current foster mom will be there for her every step of the way…and will be officially adopting her! 🐶❤️🐶 A huge congratulations to Star for finding her forever home!

🐾While we love a great foster failure around here, we are open to those who just want to foster short term too. If you’ve ever considered fostering, reach out. Long term fosters are great. Short term fosters are great. Sometimes we just need people for days to a week or two until we do a rescue transport run. Every foster home helps us help more people in our community.

An elderly couple is looking to rehome their two cats due to declining health.

The female is 6 years old and the male is 5 years old. Both are fixed and up to date on vaccines. Cats are indoor only, friendly but do not like to be held much, and can be a bit shy around new people.

Ideally, they would like them to go to the same home if possible. If you’d like to contact them, please message us and we will connect you with the couple’s daughter.

This is a great opportunity for the community. We are not sponsoring this or connected to it so you must follow the directions in the post to make an appointment. We are only sharing to try to help people spay and neuter.

EDIT- WE'VE HAD OVER 300 MESSAGES and that doesn't include the calls. We will go from bottom to top and do our best to get everyone scheduled that we can. We are limiting to one per family to try to help as many as we can.

PAY WHAT YOU CAN FOR SPAY AND NEUTER! WE HAVE APPROX 150 SPOTS AVAILABLE FOR CATS OR DOGS.

Please read!

DO NOT BOOK A SPACE IF YOU DO NOT PLAN TO SHOW UP! There are A LOT of people that need these spaces! Do not waste someone else's opportunity! You will NOT be rescheduled.

Drop off is between 8a and 9a the morning of your appt. Pick-up will be some time that afternoon.

Appts have to be completed before Nov 13th! This is the last grant availability until after the new year!!

We would like for people to pay what you can towards the surgery cost so we can use it for the most animals possible! If you cannot pay anything, it's ok, but we want to share as much as we can- even if all you can put towards it is $10.

Please call 304-310-2355/ 304-310-2356 to get scheduled. You can also message the FB page.

🎃DOG-TOBER 🐶 RESCUE CENTER CAPITAL CAMPAIGN UPDATE WEEK 2🎃

First, thank you to everyone who has donated. ❤️

So far, our October campaign has raised $2,190 in new contributions. With our match from a couple in our community, this means we have raised $4,380 in new funds this October!

Every donation, every share, and every conversation helps us get closer. Our volunteers have been working hard behind the scenes too. We have sent letters to state and federal elected officials asking about grants, partnerships, and any opportunities.

So, what’s new in the last week?
🐾 We are waiting on an updated quote from a contractor for the foundation.
🐾 We received an updated quote on the shell. It’s still in line with our last quote. 😊
🐾 Governor Morrisey’s office phoned a volunteer to discuss resources. While none of them identified by his office seemed applicable, we asked them to keep us in mind for any opportunities in the future.
🐾 Senator Justice’s office emailed and phoned a volunteer this afternoon. We are starting to explore the resources they sent to see if any fit our rescue center. They commended our efforts and offered to write a letter of recommendation if any appropriate funding opportunities were identified.

If you have been following along, please like and share this post. Every share helps us reach more people.

If you’re able to donate, every dollar matters. Our campaign is still underway. At the start of the month, we announced that we have a community match for the next $5,000 raised. This means the next $2,810 raised will still be matched dollar for dollar!

We are still moving forward. We are building this rescue center one contribution, one conversation, one connection, and one dollar at a time.

Thank you to every single person who supports us. Your donations, kind words, and support mean the world to us. Sincerely. ❤️

How can you donate?
1) Donate to our GoFundMe

We are saddened to report that Waffles is returning to us today. He was adopted almost a year ago to a wonderful home with a small child. Even though Waffles went through training, he’s such a loving dog that he just can’t understand that he’s too big to jump on people.

Despite his owner trying everything to keep him, it has gotten to a point that the child is afraid to leave his bedroom for fear that Waffles will topple him over. His owner does not want to have to keep Waffles confined to a crate all the time, so he reached out to us to see if we could take him back. Of course, we said yes.

Waffles will go back to being an outside dog in a kennel, despite being inside for almost a year. Though he will likely adjust well, we’d love to find someone to foster (or adopt!) him to keep him from having to do this.

If you’d like to give him a chance, please message us. He needs a home with no small children or small animals (no cats or chickens). He does great with other dogs and loves to play. Please share to help us find Waffles his true forever home!
