The Griffin Spalding Historical Society was founded in 1969 to present the stories of Griffins past, present and future in a variety of engaging and exciting ways through, programs, collections and research. Today the Historical Society owns and operates The Bailey-Tebault House located at 633 Meriwether Street in Griffin, which is available for rent to host your next event.

October Business After Hours was truly spectacular!

We had the best time networking in one of Griffin’s most beautiful historic treasures! 🏛️💜

A HUGE thank you to the Griffin Spalding Historical Society for welcoming us into the stunning Bailey-Tebault House, treating us to a delicious spread, and giving us the opportunity to enjoy such an incredible space while making connections with fellow business professionals!

What a fabulous evening at the Bailey-Tebault House celebrating our Patrons and the people who make historic preservation in Griffin and Spalding County so special!

From the laughter and fellowship to the shared passion for preserving our community’s history, it was a wonderful reminder of what makes this organization so meaningful. If you weren’t there, you truly missed a special night!

A heartfelt thank you to Mill Towne Gourmet, our Events Committee, Executive Director Erin English, and President Drew Payne for making the evening possible.

Join the Griffin-Spalding Historical Society for a special fall program and book signing, celebrating the rich history of Griffin and the people and places that have shaped our community.

Tickets are on sale at GriffinHistory.com

We’ll explore the early history of Griffin through the recently reprinted History of Griffin book by Quimby Melton Jr, updated by his son Quimby Melton III, who will be with us to share stories and insights from his work. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the program.

Come enjoy a fascinating look at Griffin’s past, learn more about efforts to preserve its historic places, and connect with others who share an appreciation for our local history.

Lunch will be provided. We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be a wonderful fall program!
