🤝 Faith-Based Support Groups: Approximately $2,000/year
📋 Insurance & Administration: Approximately $10,000/year

Look at the roots.

A tree’s branches tell a story, but the roots help explain why the tree grew the way it did.

Our lives can be similar.

The roots: what happened to us.
The trunk: what we came to believe.
The branches: how we respond.
The fruit: what those responses produce.

We often focus on changing the branches while never addressing the roots.

But dysfunctional roots can produce dysfunctional patterns.

Christ doesn’t just want to change our behavior. He brings healing to the places beneath it.

True freedom goes deeper than changing what we do. It begins with allowing Jesus to transform what is rooted within us.

Hebrews 12
Reminds us that the WAY to overcome sin is by running to Jesus.

When we soak in His Word and His Presence we build up our Spirit.

James 4:7
Tells us submission to God comes first, then we resist the attacks...temptations...negative thoughts...lies...Then the devil will flee.

It all begins with GOD.

Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

James 4:7 NLT
So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Did you know....

People are MORE apt to experience PTG than PTSD after a traumatic experience....

But that is not the case with those who have experienced CPTSD.

Ok first...definitions

PTG= Post Traumatic Growth
---Refers to positive psychological change experienced as a result of the struggle with a highly challenging life crisis.

PTSD= Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
--- A mental health diagnosis with a specific symptom cluster for people who have experienced or seen a Traumatic event.

CPTSD= Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
--- A mental health diagnosis with a specific symptom cluster for people who have experienced on-going traumatic events like childhood abuse, domestic violence, and others where its been exceptionally hard or impossible to escape.

The thing is when humans are exposed to the "trauma" on a regular basis or denied the reality of it on a regular basis... this settles in our body, our mind, and our soul.

Secular psychology doesn't like to address the soul issue. Oftentimes those in faith communities ignore the body (biological) issue.

But when we can come together on a biblical foundation and treat the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual impact of trauma it is in that place we can heal.
