The Mike Fogarty Memorial 8U Tournament honors the legacy of Mike Fogarty, a dedicated volunteer whose impact on Gresham youth baseball continues to be felt throughout the community. Mike served on the Board of Gresham Little League for 10 years and spent countless seasons coaching all three of his children, from T-Ball through Babe Ruth. He was a passionate All-Star coach for many years and was always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Mike took great pride in preparing the fields, often spending hours ensuring they were ready for players to enjoy. One of his favorite sights was watching kids play baseball under the lights at Main City Park. His commitment to the league extended beyond coaching and field work, as he also played a key role in securing funding for the construction of the upper field at Main City Park.

Today, Mike’s love for youth sports lives on through his family. His son, Joel, continues the tradition of service as a coach with GBYBS, while his grandchildren, Parker and Paxton, are creating their own memories on the fields he cared so deeply about. Parker plays softball, and Paxton will be taking the field in this weekend’s tournament. As we gather to celebrate the game, we also celebrate the lasting legacy of a man whose dedication, leadership, and passion helped shape youth baseball in our community for generations.

The countdown is on for the Mike Fogarty Memorial 8U Tournament this weekend!

Join us at Main City Park on Saturday and Sunday as teams take the field for a weekend full of baseball, teamwork, and fun! Come cheer on these young athletes as they give it their all and make memories.

We’re especially excited to have two Gresham teams competing this weekend — GB 8U Black and GB 8U Blue! Be sure to come out and cheer on our hometown players as they battle it out on the diamond. 💙🖤

Bring the family, grab some snacks from concessions, and enjoy a fun-filled weekend of great games and community spirit at the park. We can’t wait to see the stands full and the players feeling the support! ⚾️

The Majors East County Classic was an incredible weekend of baseball! 🤩

Six teams took the fields in Sandy and MCP and competed all weekend long, including 3 GB teams, 2 Sandy teams, and 1 Portland team. It was an exciting tournament from start to finish!

Congratulations to the GB Thundersticks, coached by Kyle Well, for coming out on top with a championship victory Sunday evening under the lights! 🏆⚡

This tournament also marked an important milestone for many of the athletes. For many players heading into Seniors, these were the final games of their Majors careers at Main City Park — the last time taking the field in Majors, under those lights, alongside teammates who have shared so many memories over the years.

Thank you to the players, coaches, families, volunteers, and fans for making the Majors East County Classic a special weekend of baseball. ⚾

What a weekend for GB Baseball! ⚾️

Our GB All Star teams were all over the region, representing our community with pride this weekend!

💙 8U Black & 8U Blue battled in Sandy
⚾️ 9U competed hard in Happy Valley
🔥 10U took the field in West Linn

From first pitch to final out, our players showed incredible effort, teamwork, sportsmanship, and grit. We are so proud of every GB team that competed!

A special shoutout and congratulations to our GB 8U Black team for an incredible tournament run, battling to the championship game and finishing as tournament runner-up! Way to go!🥈

Great job to all of our players, coaches, and families for another memorable weekend of GB Baseball! 💙
