Hello Neighbors,
» First, the good news...
Rockwood Tool Library renovated a 1,200 sq ft garage to fit our full inventory with room for skill sharing, plus repair and donation intake to keep HUNDREDS MORE tools from waste.
» More good news.
We said we could do it with only $30,000 of your donations, and we did! $28,596.38, actually.
» AND Public Art?!?
Metro even FULLY FUNDED an incredible mural, expressing our vision for the community on the outside of our building.—Cool, right?
» Here comes Part 2...
THEN we renovated these rooms into an open Community Classroom with mold removal, electrical repair, etc. The heat & AC were fixed up, too.
That means, year round comfy classes and response center!!
» We saved major $$$.
Volunteer labor, reuse partnerships, and in-kind donations knocked our cost down from $80K to only $16,860! That's good stewardship of your gifts!!
» Now the other news...
We can’t open our classroom until we complete a little more professional work, including some mandatory underground plumbing improvements.
And we’re out of renovation funds!
