This is what Horses Heal Hearts can look like. 🐴

Recently, two sweet girls spent a little time with us at the ranch.

There was no pressure to walk in and immediately be comfortable with a horse. We started small; learning how to safely be around them, watching what their ears and bodies were telling us, and letting the horses decide when they wanted to come closer. The girls could choose how close they wanted to be, too.

They colored, observed, answered questions, and talked about what they noticed; not only about the horses, but about themselves. How did the horse seem? How did you feel when it came near you? What do you think the horse noticed about you?

And while they worked, the horses did what horses tend to do.

They wandered over. They got curious. They stood nearby. They simply shared the space.

There doesn't always have to be a big lesson or a perfect conversation for time with a horse to mean something. Sometimes it's just having a quiet place to land for a while, something gentle to focus on, and the freedom to participate at your own pace.

Sometimes healing doesn't start with talking. Sometimes it starts with feeling safe enough to simply be there.

Days like this are a little glimpse of what we hope Horses Heal Hearts can be.

Ever notice how horses have a way of making you slow down?

You can walk out there with twelve things running through your head, and five minutes later you're standing there watching a horse eat grass like it's the most interesting thing you've ever seen.

Maybe that's part of the magic
