The entire fleet is back "UP" and nearly all are assembled in the hangar. The only thing missing in the photo is Chick Noodle (our Schempp-Hirth Open Cirrus) and the Discus-2cT (which flies or otherwise lives in its trailer). It's a good feeling having three (3) Grob 103s back in the air at the same time again. Chicken Noodle should be assembled this weekend and ready to fly!

Introducing the "Glide Range" chart - for beginner and intermediate mountain wave pilots, or even experts flying in new locations, the most pressing question is always;

😱 "Where is my best landing option?" 😱

Our new chart shows an interactive map with filled colours showing the nearest airport and with contours showing increasing altitudes needed to make a safe glide to the airport.

Tapping on the screen or moving the mouse shows the interactive glide path to the option.

If you have additional landing points in your uploaded Waypoint file, they will also be included in the calculation.

It couples nicely with the Route Forecast tool, so you can plan your turnpoints around areas you are comfortable to fly in.

Adjusting your Pilot/Glider Factor increases or decreases the performance from a reference 22:1 glide ratio required.

Credit for the inspiration for this concept must go to the incredible Gabriel Briffe and Frank Muller. 😘

I think I'm in love! I found this P51 sitting on the ramp at one of my first airshows in Fairbanks, Alaska, circa 1984. It wasn't until a few years later that I got my hands on one and flew it in a few shows. If there is a message? Don't think it won't happen. If you think you can do it, then direct your energy into making it happen.
