I had a wonderful time Wednesday at the National Microschooling Center’s South Carolina Founders Workshop. Doug and Alicia Dickerson graciously hosted us at their Micrsochool, The Success Center, in Goose Creek, SC. What an encouragement to spend the day with passionate SC Microschool Founders and hear about the powerful impacts their Microschools are making on families and children. It was a bit daunting at first, but thank you, Ashley Soifer for encouraging me to be a part of the panel discussion at the end of the day!

Welcome to STEAM Learning! This was the work table last month when the kids were building their motorized marble run. Even my computer was covered with building plans! Once kids creative juices start to flow, I don't want to interrupt their innovative thoughts with requests to "clean-up" because kids interpret "clean-up" as "you're done" and that halts the process. Instead, I let the mess pile up as they work and if some days I have to clean-up after camps or Microschool, that's ok. Because this mess is a reflection of creative innovation at work.
