❄️ Weather Update❄️
All District Five schools and offices will remain closed on Thursday, January 29, due to hazardous driving conditions ⚠️ Thursday will be an eLearning day for all District Five students 💻All extracurricular activities and events are also cancelled.

After continued evaluation by our inclement weather team and school bus drivers, many secondary roads across the district remain covered in ice. While main roads are improving, more than half of our bus routes are still unsafe for travel at this time. 🚌🚗

With below-freezing temperatures expected again overnight, refreezing and black ice remain a concern, and we cannot risk the safety of our students, staff, or families 💙 We will continue to monitor conditions and share any updates as soon as possible! Stay safe!

As our community continues to recover from Hurricane Helene, District Five is announcing a plan to reopen our schools. 🏫 As of today, all of our schools have power, and our team has been working hard to ensure our buildings are safe for students and staff to return.

Monday, October 7 will be a workday for all District Five teachers and staff, to allow time for planning and preparation. This will also allow additional time for power to be restored to homes, and for city and county crews to clear remaining storm debris from our roads. 🚧 All District Five students will return to school on Tuesday, October 8, on a two hour delay. This delay will allow extra time in the morning for buses, student drivers and families to safely travel to school. ⏰

Our transportation team continues to monitor our bus routes to ensure they are safe for student travel. 🚌

We can't wait to welcome our students back to school, and help our community return to normal. We are thankful for your support during this difficult time! ❤️

harm, both physically and emotionally. Help them to find friends who will support and encourage them. Give them wisdom as they face challenging situations. And help them to always remember that you are with them no matter what.

📢*WEATHER ALERT* 📢

Tuesday, January 9, will be an e-Learning day for all District Five students and staff. 💻

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Spartanburg County and the Upstate due to strong storms that are due to hit our area throughout Tuesday. 💨💨💨
Heavy rainfall and winds near school dismissal times could potentially make it too dangerous for our buses, student drivers or families to travel. 🚍🚗 South Carolina restricts school bus travel if sustained winds hit 30 mph or gusts exceed 40 mph.

Teachers will be in touch with all students regarding assignments. All after school activities and practices are also be canceled for Tuesday. We appreciate your patience and understanding as safety is always our top priority in District Five.
