We get a lot of questions about whether a kid can do scouts if they also do sports. Yes! They can do sports. But the schedule does make a difference. The easiest to manage is rec baseball or soccer in our area. The season's not really too long. I tell the kids to go to practice if it's sunny, come to scouts if it's raining. One year ALL of my den played baseball! I took some time off at spring break and we spent several days catching up on some activities. No sweat. If they do CESA soccer it's a challenge because it's pretty much every day, but I have one former scout who got all the way to Eagle. He even had a job at Chick fil A in high school and he got a college scholarship for soccer. If you look carefully through our picture, you can find a picture of him as a second grader going backpacking with his Wolf cub hat!
