What a great day at the Cowpens Food Truck Takeover! 🌮🍔🎶

Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the food, music, and beautiful weather. It was such a fun afternoon seeing friends, meeting new people, and supporting local vendors and small businesses. Events like this are what make our community so special.

A big shoutout to all the food trucks and vendors who made the day delicious and memorable! And a special congratulations to
Simply Aloha on your first public debut—you did amazing! 🌺

Already looking forward to the next one! 😊

Hi everyone! 😊 Just a quick reminder about our impromptu meetup tomorrow!

Let’s come out and support a fellow KAD at the 2026 OGS Cowpens Food Truck Takeover. It will be her first public debut with Simply Aloha, so let’s show her some love! 🌺

📅 Saturday, 3/14 at 4:00 PM
📍 Cowpens Veterans Memorial Park

We’ll meet there, wander around the grounds, check out the vendors, listen to some music, and grab dinner from the Simply Aloha food truck. 🌮🎶

If you’re free, stop by—even if just for a little while. It will be fun to catch up and support one of our own!

A birth mother is currently searching for her daughter, who was born in October 1985. In 1986, the birth father’s brother reportedly took the baby to a police station. It is unclear whether he reported the child as having been found or simply left her there. The birth mother only recently learned of these circumstances and has been trying to locate her ever since.

She heard about the photo display at Omma Poom and wanted to look through the photos, which is how I became connected with her. She has completed 23andMe DNA testing, but so far no matches have been found. She also tried to register her DNA at the police station in Korea, but was not allowed to complete the process. (It is very frustrating that the process is so complicated for birth families in Korea.) I plan to accompany her to the police station in May to help her do the DNA registration.

Could you please share this photo with the adoptee communities you belong to and ask around? Thanks.

Just got word about a tour with Me&Korea. If you're from or potentially have info from the Daegu area, they're doing a regional tour with birth family search assistance. One of the KADs Went on the Mosaic tour last year and can attest that the staff is wonderful and extremely helpful in this regard. It's also a more affordable way to visit. Official announcement and applications will go out this week.

Here's the link:

This region-specific tour offers Korean adoptees the opportunity to experience Korea by spending meaningful time in one region while engaging deeply with local culture, history, and community.
