A beautiful baby came into our lives. He was everything a parent would want and lived a full life like most kids usually do.
10 years later, our lives changed again, this time in the other direction. Our boisterous young man was diagnosed of cancer 4 months after his 10th birthday. So rare it has never before been on file as diagnosed in our home country of Nigeria. So rare even doctors would rac

k their brains when they hear of the name- Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT)
We got thrust right into the chaos of the childhood cancer world. It is a world No parent would ever wish to be a part of And for us, this eventually meant practically fleeing with our dying child thousands of miles across the oceans…to the United States where, because of the level of care he received, we were able to have him with us for another 2 years. Childhood cancer is brutal and yet, everyday more than one child is diagnosed. Our Organization’s goal is to raise for awareness for childhood cancer -to let people know it can happen to anyone- and to raise support for the families that have their lives turned upside down in a twinkle of an eye and for the cross-section that eventually lose their children to the menace that is childhood cancer, to offer bereavement support and resources. Some societies are far ahead of others, that is why we also extend our support to indigent children in Nigeria through the hospitals in the hope to have at least, a decent remission rate. Supporting research is a big goal for our organization because it is only with more scientific research and breakthrough that we can hope to have more of our children in remission. Treatment options for Neuroblastoma may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, stem cell transplant, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. And every treatment regimen is dependent on the child's case.
