Upstream Prevention, Inc. Upstream is a Johnson County nonprofit, focusing on systems-level changes to promote public health. "Imagine a large river with a high waterfall.

At the bottom of this waterfall hundreds of people are working frantically trying to save those who have fallen into the river and have fallen down the waterfall, many of them drowning. As the people along the shore are trying to rescue as many as possible one individual looks up and sees a seemingly never-ending stream of people falling down the waterfall and begins to run upstream. One of other

rescuers hollers, "Where are you going? There are so many people that need help here." To which the man replied, "I'm going upstream to find out why so many people are falling into the river."

You've marked your calendars to save the date, but registration is now open for the RISE - Recovery Coalition's night of light and purpose - the 2026 Glow for Hope 5k Run/Walk on June 20th!

Register for this FREE, high-energy evening run/walk to support those in substance use recovery, raise awareness in our community, and just have some fun! Lace up, light up, and let’s shine together at the Franklin Amphitheater. Glow gear encouraged—hope never looked so bright!

The event is free, but registration is requested so we can have an estimate of numbers. Within the free registration, you can add on a shirt (and other bright goodies!) to help you highlight that Recovery is Possible - all items will be available for pickup on the 20th.

We are excited to open nominations for the 2026 Indiana Su***de Prevention & Awareness Summit statewide awards. Award winners will be recognized at the 2026 Summit on August 5, 2026, at Wyndham West Indianapolis during lunch.

Nominations should be completed electronically by June 16th, 2026 at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/26ISPASaward

Individuals nominated could be a service provider (individual or organization) who goes beyond the care of a person and/or their family, connecting them to resources and promoting continuity of care. Nominees should be someone who has championed su***de prevention and awareness in the state of Indiana. Award categories include Front Line Responder, Outstanding Community Connector, Su***de Prevention Advocate, and Champion of the Year.
