Upper Savannah Land Trust

Upper Savannah Land Trust The Land Trust was incorporated on October 1, 2000, by citizens of the region as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. The first was a 33 acre tract.

The Trust was incorporated on October 1, 2000, by citizens of the region as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Finding widespread interest in our mission, the Trust began accepting easement from landowners. From this humber beginning, the Trust has grown to hold easements on more than 50,000 acres in northwestern South Carolina. The generosity and foresight of the many easement donors has made this phenomenal growth possible.

Where were you on the last Friday of October's stretch of beautiful weather? We were out at USLT's 8th Annual Sporting Clays for Conservation, at NWTF's amazing Palmetto Shooting Complex in Edgefield County, raising almost $10,000 for land conservation. The air was cool, the sky was blue, the clays were flying and guns were firing. If you look carefully you might see a shattered clay, captured in high flight in one of these photographs. Congrats to perennial champion Rocky Knoll and Matthew HIlley for another championship, and thanks to all the teams, sponsors, and supporters for helping keep our books in the black and our work on track as your Land Trust approaches 60,000 acres of land protected.
