💙🌱 Week 1 of The Optimist Shift Summer Camp was a success!

Our young men’s energy was unmatched this week. They came in ready to learn and have fun! We focused on hands-on STEM activities like these engineering challenges.

📊 Research shows that students who participate in STEM activities develop stronger problem-solving abilities and communication skills.

Day 1 of The Optimist Shift Summer Camp was a success! 💙

We were excited to welcome 46 young men, ages 6–19, on our first day, and the energy and engagement throughout the day were incredible! 🙌

Our young men participated in real-life skill lessons, hands-on STEM activities🧪, and outdoor physical activities🏀 while building relationships, learning new skills, and having fun.

A special thank you to all of the parents for entrusting us with your young men. Your trust means everything to us. 💙

We also want to thank our incredible volunteers and mentors for your teamwork, dedication, and commitment to helping make our first day a success. 👏

This weekend we had the opportunity to honor the young men who participated in the first wave of our 8 Week Pilot Program, alongside their families, with a day filled with fun, community, and unforgettable memories. 💙

I’m proud of each and every young man, and the growth they’ve shown throughout this journey. The best is yet to come! 🙌🌱

Our teens don’t just need advice; they need genuine role models who truly care, want to help, and aren’t only looking to benefit themselves. 💙🤝

In light of the recent incidents happening around our community, our youth have already given us part of the answer.

Now the real question is: Who is willing to step up and do something about it?

Next week, we’ll be hosting an Open House for those willing to mentor, volunteer, and help make a real impact in the lives of our young people. 🌱
