Our young Shifters took part in a hands-on STEM activity designed to strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills! 🧠💡

The Cups, Cubes, & Sticks STEM Challenge tasked our young men with building the tallest tower using limited materials. This activity encouraged teamwork, while exploring creative thinking.

Our Shifters showed just how creative they can be, thinking outside the box and coming up with some impressive designs! 🌱💙

During intersession, our young Shifters rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on during our Lawn Care Workshop! 🌱

At The Optimist Shift, we believe in teaching practical life skills while instilling the value of hard work in our young men. Growth comes through hands-on experience and consistent practice. Every new skill learned is another tool in their toolbox for life! 💯💙💛

Thank you to Executive Director Andrea M. White and the Food Bank of the Lakelands staff for welcoming our young men from The Optimist Shift for our first off-campus community service event!

Serving others builds compassion, responsibility, and purpose. We’re teaching our young men that leadership starts with showing up and giving back!

🏈 Friday Night Lights 🏈!!!

We had an awesome opportunity to take our young men out to experience a Greenwood High School football game! A huge thank you to the Greenwood High coaches and Athletic Director for welcoming our guys and allowing us to enjoy this experience.

Special thanks to Tabernacle Baptist Church for allowing us to use the van, and to our volunteers Michael Gaskin and Douglas Norman for stepping up and helping us make it happen.

It truly took a team effort to pull this off, and we couldn’t be more proud of how well our young men represented The Optimist Shift.

These moments are bigger than football they’re about exposure, experiences, mentorship, and community. 💙💛

The Optimist Shift wants to give a HUGE shoutout to one of our very own Shifters, Ace, for being recognized as an Ingles Upstate’s Top Teens Award recipient! 🏆👏

♻️ Learning today. Leading tomorrow!

Our young men at The Optimist Shift had a great time learning about recycling. They learned:
- What is recycling?
- The benefits of recycling?
- How littering impacts our environment and community.

They also participated in a hands-on STEM activity that helped bring the lesson to life!

A special thank you to Diane, Mary Susan, Craig, Amber Napier, and Trash Time with Tara for taking the time to educate and share their knowledge with our shifters. We greatly appreciate you all. 💙💛
