📋 Join the Autoimmune Hepatitis (AIH) Patient Registry

🔬 Help advance research in autoimmune hepatitis.

Researchers and patient advocates are working together to better understand
autoimmune hepatitis (AIH), improve quality of life, and support the development of future treatments. To help achieve these goals, we invite individuals with AIH to
participate in the AIH Patient Registry.

✅ Already enrolled?

If you are already participating in the AIH Patient Registry, please be sure to complete your annual AIH follow-up check-in when you receive the reminder email at the primary email address associated with your registry account.

Your yearly updates are one of the most valuable parts of the registry.

Following participants over time allows researchers to better understand how AIH changes throughout the course of the disease, how treatments perform in real-world settings, and which factors may influence long-term outcomes. Even if your health has remained stable, your continued participation provides critical information that helps advance AIH research.

❓What is the AIH Patient Registry?

The registry collects information from individuals living with AIH, including:
• Disease history and diagnosis
• Current and past treatments
• Symptoms and quality of life
• Experiences living with AIH

Information collected through the registry helps researchers better understand AIH and identify opportunities for future studies.

💻 What does participation involve?

Participation is entirely online and can be completed from home.

If you choose to participate:
• You will review and complete an electronic consent form.
• You will complete online questionnaires about your health and experiences with AIH.
• You will provide a saliva sample. We will mail you a collection kit, and you will return the sample using the prepaid shipping materials provided.
• You may be invited to complete follow-up surveys approximately once per year.

⚠️ What are the risks?

The risks of participation are minimal and primarily involve sharing health-related
information through secure online surveys.

🔒 Will my information be protected?

Yes. Information collected through the registry is stored securely and managed
according to established privacy and research standards.

Data shared with researchers will not contain information that directly identifies you.

📍 Join Us in Boston for the AIHA Northeast Connect Conference!

You asked, and we listened. Many members of our community have shared that traveling to Indianapolis isn't always possible. That's why we're excited to bring the AIHA to you with our first-ever regional conference, the AIHA Northeast Connect in Boston!

This new patient-centered event was created to make AIH education and connection more accessible while bringing together patients, caregivers, and leading experts from North America and Europe.

✨ Wednesday Welcome Reception
Kick off the conference by joining us at the Wyndham Boston Beacon Hill from 5:00–7:00 p.m. for complimentary appetizers and beverages, and connect with fellow patients, caregivers, advocates, and healthcare professionals before the conference begins.

📚 Thursday's Patient-Centered Program will feature leading AIH experts discussing:
• Understanding AIH and your diagnosis
• Lab results, testing, and disease monitoring
• Current treatments and future therapies
• Clinical trials and emerging research
• Fatigue, quality of life, and symptom management
• Women's health and AIH
• Lifestyle and complementary approaches
• A special joint session with the International Autoimmune Hepatitis Group (IAIHG)

The day also includes interactive Q&A sessions, networking, breakfast, lunch, and an evening dinner reception at the historic Liberty Hotel Boston.

📅 Friday: Participants may choose to attend the second day of the International Autoimmune Hepatitis Group (IAIHG) Workshop for additional presentations from world-renowned experts.

💙 This conference is designed to provide practical education, answer your questions, and connect you with others who understand the AIH journey.

🏨 Hotel Accommodations
The AIHA has reserved a block of rooms at the Wyndham Boston Beacon Hill, conveniently located at the base of Boston's historic Beacon Hill neighborhood and just steps from the conference.

The special conference rate is $249 per night (plus applicable taxes and fees). You're welcome to stay elsewhere if you prefer.

Fatigue is one of the most common and most challenging symptoms of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH). Even when liver tests are stable, fatigue can continue to affect daily life.

In the last post in our Fatigue in AIH blog series, we shared practical strategies that may help you better manage fatigue, including:

✔️ Building gentle movement into your routine
✔️ Supporting your energy through nutrition
