Oaks Recovery Where Recovery from Addiction Takes Root We are not a detox center, a medical or mental health facility, or clinical counseling center.

Oaks Recovery offers the support and solution through 12 step utilization and personal experience as a way to help themselves and others. The team provides support, coaching, and daily oversight to overcome substance use disorder and grow a life rooted in recovery. Our approach includes providing a safe, clean, sober-living environment with a structured program of 12-step recovery & accountability. Please help us congratulate Oaks Alumni, Alice G. on THREE YEARS SOBER, and David I. on ONE YEAR SOBER!

Alice has been such a blessing since her arrival to Greenwood three years ago. After her nephew successfully completed our program many years ago, Alice knew where to turn when she was finally ready to find a new way of life. She is a beacon of hope within our local recovery community, and willing to serve at any opportunity she gets!

After completing our 42 day intensive program, David transitioned back to Sumter, where he is an asset in their local recovery community as well. David has stayed very connected with our alumni community, and also has lead other men to Oaks who were ready to take their next steps in sobriety.

We are beyond grateful for both of these individuals, and we look forward to seeing them up here year after year!

Sometimes the most powerful stories are told by the people living them.

Recovery looks different for everyone, but each story carries a reminder of what's possible when someone is given the opportunity, support, and community to begin again.

These are the words of the men and women who have walked through the doors of Oaks Recovery and Willow House.

She came to Willow House looking for recovery.

Today, she leads it.

Tammi Bearse arrived at Willow in 2022, having traveled from Massachusetts in search of a different life.

She was among the first women to walk through our doors when Willow was still brand new, and she became part of the community that helped shape what Willow would grow into.

Through her own recovery, Tammi experienced the kind of love, support, and connection that can change a person's life.

And somewhere along the way, she decided she wanted to give that same thing back.

She first served as one of our house managers before eventually stepping into her role as Willow House Program Director.

Today, Tammi leads Willow House, walking alongside women who are navigating some of the same fears, challenges, and possibilities she once faced herself.

There is something incredibly special about that.

The woman who once needed a safe place to begin again is now helping create that space for someone else.

And outside of Willow? Tammi loves hiking, spending time with family, and hanging out with her cats.

This Tuesday at Rooted, we're welcoming a familiar face and a story that reminds us why we do what we do.

When Rob arrived at Oaks in February 2016, it was his eighth treatment program in ten years.

He didn't know then that this place would become such a significant part of the life he was about to build.

After completing our long-term program, Rob discovered a love for being of service. He began volunteering in admissions, helping individuals and families navigate the same difficult decisions he'd once faced.

Today, he's our Director of Admissions and often one of the first voices someone hears when they reach out for help.

But this Tuesday, we're setting aside the job title and making room for the story.

The struggles. The surrender. The transformation. And the life that became possible through recovery.

Join us for an evening of experience, strength, hope, and honest conversation.

“Nothing is more fulfilling than watching lives restored.”

That probably tells you more about Micky Wilkerson than any job title ever could.

Micky’s sobriety date is May 8, 2020, and since becoming part of the Oaks community, he’s worn quite a few hats.

Van Driver → Night Men’s Program Director → Intensive Program Director.

Today, Micky leads our Intensive Program, teaching the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and bringing together his own recovery, years of coaching experience, and a whole lot of life experience to walk alongside the men we serve.

And if you know Micky, you know he isn't exactly someone who enjoys talking about himself.

So we'll do it for him.

Micky is someone who believes deeply in the possibility of a life being rebuilt. He knows that recovery takes work, willingness, and sometimes a whole lot of patience. But he also knows what's possible when someone begins to believe their life can be different.

And he gets to witness that transformation every day.

When he's not at Oaks, you'll likely find him spending time with family and friends or somewhere with a fishing rod in his hand.

Our Bonfire shop is now the go-to place for Oaks Recovery gear — with multiple designs and styles available, including tees, hoodies, sweatshirts & more.

Whether you’re Oaks alumni, family, staff, a friend of the community, or simply someone who believes in what we do, it’s a pretty great way to carry a little piece of Oaks with you.

And a little heads up 👀 — for the foreseeable future, our Bonfire store will be the place to get Oaks Recovery apparel. We don’t currently have plans to keep our usual stock of shirts and hoodies available for in-person purchase.
