My grandmother always drank her coffee like this! I thought it was because it was too hot.
Do you remember older generations drinking from their saucer? Then today I came across this poem that made me feel there was symbolism to the coffee ritual.
Drinking from My Saucer

I’ve never made a fortune and it’s probably too late now.
But I don’t worry about that much, I’m happy anyhow.
And as I go along life’s way, I’m reaping better than I sowed.

It's almost Spring in the Ozarks! Hopefully, you are ready for some riding soon.
We have been discussing the future of the Ozark Mountains Raid lately. There is always a lot of work that goes into putting on an event. It's something we worked on almost year round in our spare time. It starts with finding a raffle bike, meeting with hotels to try and get a group rate, finding a caterer, choosing a menu, designing a t-shirt, finding someone to print t-shirts, designing, hosting, and updating a website, (Thanks Dave!), driving to every sponsor, (some as far as 6 hours away) to beg for door prizes, organizing registrations, building swag bags, etc...Whew!We're tired just thinking about all that!
The last couple years we have seen interest in the event begin to fade. Covid forced us to cancel twice and now costs continue to skyrocket. We always did our best to keep registration reasonable and still provide you a quality event. We don't feel like we can do that anymore but rather than give it up completely, we have decided to change what an Ozark Mountains Raid will look like in the future.

We are planning a weekend of riding 14 -16 October 2022 in Harrison AR and will be staying at the Quality Inn. No banquet, no raffle bike, no t-shirts, no hotel group rate and no registration fee...just a weekend riding and maybe hanging out at the fire pit in the evening. We will see who is interested in a group dinner Saturday night at a local restaurant but that's about as organized as we're going to get. 😄

We have enjoyed having each of you at our events in the past. We have made many great friends over the years and hope that you will join us for a weekend of riding this Fall.

Its almost 2022! We hope to see you out on the road.
We have been discussing the future of OMR lately and what an event might look like. Hotels, catering, t-shirts are all considerably more costly than in years past which leads us to believe we can't put on a decent event and keep costs low for you. We think an OMR in 2022 would just be a weekend of riding, no banquet, etc. If you are interested attending comment below.

CANCELLED - Ozark Mountains Raid 16 - 19, Sept 2021
Due to a high amount of Covid cases in Arkansas, we are saddened to have to cancel the Ozark Mountains Raid for 2021. We feel this is the best option to keep everyone safe and healthy. HOPEFULLY 2022 will allow us to safely host the event. Paypal refunds will be issued no later than Friday August 26th.
