Times of weakness are unavoidable. Weakness will come at times as a result of following Christ. In fact, that is how we know we are in the right place. The right place will make us weak at times because we will have struggle and challenge and problems and attacks. Yes, these things weaken us but it is only when we are weak that we can know God’s strength. Remember how he made you. He has given each of us special gifts and talents. Discover those. Let them grow and use them for him. God won’t leave us in a place of weakness. The Spirit God gives us is not one of weakness and fear. It is a Spirit of power, love and self control. Live in this God-given Power. Never be ashamed about who you are. God built you and Christ bought you. You are worth every drop of blood he shed. He is using you to draw others to himself. He uses all our talents and strengths and troubles and problems for good, to build something beautiful. You are beautiful and you are part of his work. That is why we never give up. All the problems, struggles and doubts are worth it. Even in the times we get weak we really reflect God’s strength. Every day is a new day. Make the most of each one!

📢 PANTRY SCHEDULE UPDATE

We’re making a change to better serve our neighbors!

Our Wednesday pantry hours were added in hopes of reducing the number of families visiting on Thursday evenings. While Wednesday attendance has remained low, our Thursday nights continue to be very busy, making it challenging to serve everyone well within our space.

Beginning Tuesday, October 6, we will shift our Wednesday pantry to Tuesday evenings in hopes of providing a more convenient option and easing Thursday evening traffic.

Please help us spread the word! We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we continue looking for the best ways to serve our community well. ❤️

It's time for the September 2026 Community Meal Menu for Johnson County. Stone's Crossing Church in Greenwood is back on the menu for one week per month after the summer away. Don't forget to check out the FCC Morgantown page for their weekly menus. And we're glad to have Christian Chapel Church's 12 Baskets Ministry back for the fall as well. And thanks to all who regularly plan, cook, serve and share friendship at these meals across the county.

Healthy snacks do more than satisfy hunger—they help students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn.

The Drop, The Refuge's after-school mentoring program, provides a safe place where students receive academic support, encouragement, and nutritious snacks after a full day at school. We're inviting our community to help us keep those snack shelves stocked!

There are two easy ways to help:
🛒 Donate snacks by purchasing items from our current wish list listed below and dropping them off at The Refuge.

💛 Give monetarily to help us purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, yogurt, cheese sticks, and other healthy snacks throughout the school year. What an amazing evening of music, food, fellowship, and FUN! ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and helped make our 2nd Annual Bands Battling Hunger such a special night! We are incredibly blessed to be part of a community that truly understands what it means to BE community—coming together, supporting one another, and making a difference for our neighbors.

We are so grateful for every person who joined us, supported the event, and helped make the evening possible.

Year #2 is in the books, and we’re already looking forward to Year #3 in 2027! 🎸🎉
