Here's a stat that might surprise you: coastal areas have 8 to 13 times more litter per mile than inland spots. Keeping our waterways clean is no easy feat and takes all hands on deck--all aboard! ⛵️

On Saturday, September 19, you'll have plenty of opportunities to pitch in for , which coincides with Beach Sweep/River Sweep, South Carolina's biggest waterway cleanup. Dozens upon dozens of cleanups are happening across the state that day — grab a bag and bring a friend to pitch in!

Beach Sweep/River Sweep is coordinated by South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium.
