At this year’s COAR Annual Conference, we had the honor of celebrating two extraordinary leaders with the COAR Leadership Award men whose impact on this organization and our profession runs deep.

Rick Bramall, our former president, has poured his heart into COAR. His leadership didn’t just guide this organization it strengthened it. Even beyond his time as president, Rick continues to invest in people, mentoring and encouraging the next generation of code officials with wisdom, humility, and genuine care.

We also had the privilege of honoring Tony Woodard, a true foundation of COAR. Tony has been a constant always present, always willing to teach, and always lifting others up. His influence on the mechanical and HVAC side of our industry is profound, and his legacy is seen in the countless individuals he has guided, supported, and inspired over the years.

These are the leaders who shape more than organizations they shape people, careers, and the future of our profession. We are deeply grateful for Rick and Tony, and for the lasting mark they continue to leave on COAR and all of us.

B1 Academy is underway, and I am truly enjoying the opportunity to dive into the code book, learning how to navigate and explore each chapter more effectively. Education in Arkansas continues to rise, and our inspection programs are advancing alongside it.
Clear communication drives growth, and with determination comes a deeper respect and appreciation for the work we do. Life safety is our responsibility. Respecting this role means being able to look at any home and ask, “Would this be safe enough for my own family to live in?”
Every home we inspect matters. One day, it could belong to someone we know, a child, or even a future generation of our own family. Through our work, we are helping protect both the present and the future of Arkansas homes.
